In this edition of Proof for the Paranormal, the second part on the Poltergeist phenomenon, we take to a discussion in “Academic Parapsychology vs. Field Research”. I interview Professor Emeritus Dr. Dick Bierman, theoretical physicist, who also has a great interest in anomalous phenomena such as presented in Parapsychology andwhas published many research-articles on the subject.

The word Poltergeist comes from German and means ‘noisy ghost’ or ‘noise making ghost’, literally. It is a type of ghost or spirit that is responsible for physical disturbances, such as loud noises and objects being moved or destroyed. They are purportedly capable of pinching, biting, hitting, and tripping. Many accounts of poltergeists describe the movement or levitation of objects such as furniture and cutlery, and even people!
